Book Review: Good Rich People

Lyla has married into Graham’s family and they are TWISTED. For funsies, they invite self-made women to live in their guesthouse and then they absolutely destroy them. Because new money is gross and they’re battling ennui. They never expected their latest mark, Demi, to fight back. Lyla certainly isn’t the proper lady she says she is…though Demi might not be who she claims either. But if Lyla wants to keep her standing, she needs to take. her. down.

Somewhat genre-bending, this reads like a thriller but is ultimately a satire. I deducted points because the ending felt a little off…slightly confusing maybe? When the twists typical of a thriller exist but aren’t really the point, the ending (which is meant to delve into human nature) needs to pack a major psychological punch.
